
MOUNT SAINT HELENS.
There used to be a top on it, then it blew seventeen miles north and caused the largest landslide known to man. No big deal right? I took this photo above from where vulcanologist David A Johnston stood when the blast happened, his body was never found. His last transmission to Vancouver Washington:
"Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!
...and it was.
Harry Randall Truman, a WW I veteran and stubborn Spirit Lake Lodge owner refused to leave his peaceful home when evacuation for the volcano was a do or die situation, he was buried with his lodge on May 18th 1980.
Amazing stuff. So many people effected by elements far below the soil. The earth is a living being sometimes forcing me to remember how small I really am.

One of my all time favorite designers AARON DRAPLIN is having a solo ART SHOW at THE OFFICE on Alberta in PDX. You can bet your bottom dollar I will be purchasing one of these, a whole swarm of inspiration in there.
